Sunday: Sitting in a cozy chair made more so by this little bundle of Oliver nestled in my lap with the chiming of church bells in the distance creates a different kind of worship experience on this Sunday morning. Running water in the kitchen signals clean-up time after waffles and coffee were prepared for the new mom and pop. Clothes are tumbling in the dryer and the dogs are off for their brisk morning walk as the traffic makes its way down Bardstown Road taking people through their daily routines once more.
Wednesday: After too many trips to doctors' offices, hospital rooms, NICUs and ERs, we are finally transitioning mentally and emotionally into having a normal,healthy 5 week old baby boy. It feels so very good. Spending the day in cozy spots in the house full of light, warmth and peaceful quiet on a cold Kentucky February day begun with a dusting of snow and ended with a little, light falling of sleet brings great relief and delight. A roast cooks in the oven downstairs and a couple works on graduate school papers as tiredness sets in with the dusk. A baby stirs...
